What is it?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable, and comfortable aligners that gradually reposition your teeth. Invisalign is custom-made with 3D computer imaging technology and has worked wonderfully for hundreds of our patients. We’ve got a record of handling cases that most doctors say are impossible to treat with Invisalign.
Why would I want it?
The aligners are invisible, so smile all you want, no one will know the difference. They’re also removable, so you can eat and drink whatever you want while in treatment. Popcorn, taffy, bagels and—for when you’re done snacking—brushing and flossing is no problem. They fit snuggly and are completely comfortable. There is no metal scratching your mouth during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means that you spend less time in our office getting adjustments. The imaging we use to initially fit your aligners also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
How does it work?
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move — little by little, week by week — until they have straightened to their final positions. You visit us about once every eight weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time typically lasts 18 months, and the number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both numbers will vary from case to case.
How do I get started?
Visit our office to determine if Invisalign is right for you. If it is, we’ll take 3D scans of your mouth and work directly with align technicians to determine the precise movements your teeth need to make. We’ll then calibrate your projected treatment plan, fine tune your aligners, and get you started with your first set.
